In what format should I send my manuscript?

Manuscripts should be emailed as a single Word attachment to my email address, double-spaced and paginated.

Is the half-on-agreement deposit refundable?

If you decide after agreeing to work together and paying the half-on-agreement deposit that you no longer wish to work together, you will receive 1/2 of the deposit back.

What is the best service to ensure I get my manuscript published?

There is no best service to ensure that your manuscript will get published. The Substantive Edit will give you the most comprehensive feedback on your writing, and my feeling is that clients should think of it as almost a Master Class in writing. The Editorial Letter is very good for manuscripts that have not been editing more than once or twice already.

What methods of payment do you take?

Currently, I accept checks, money orders, international wires, Chase Zelle, Chase Quickpay, and Paypal. Paypal comes with a 3.5% transaction fee.

Will you refer me directly to agents?

No.

How many rounds of editing should I get?

This is a very personal question, but I would recommend to pay for no more than two or three on the same manuscript.

Do you provide writing coaching?

Only as an amalgam of the services listed on my page. Phone consultation, could be seen as writing coaching. I also have done continual line editing on chapters as clients produced them; but each project was handled separately.

Are you going to fix grammar and spelling mistakes?

Maybe, a few, but not all. That falls under copyediting. If I’m tied up correcting those mistakes, I can’t give the developmental feedback that I specialize in.
